Michelle Godwin

I am a trainee Legal Executive based in the Swindon office family department. I assist solicitors who deal with care proceedings. These are cases where a Local Authority has become involved with a family due to concerns regarding the care of the children and the Local Authority have started the pre-proceedings process or have started the court proceedings.

I knew I wanted to become a lawyer when I was 13 years old. When I was 15, I gained work experience in a local law firm which confirmed to me that I wanted to go into the legal profession as it was something I had a passion for.

I joined Bevirs in 2014 after completing my A levels at Cirencester College, including an A Level in Law.

I am an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) and am currently studying with CILEx Law School whilst working with Bevirs. I am training to become a Chartered Legal Executive and once I have finished my qualifications, I would like to specialise in care proceedings.

I am able to experience the practical aspect of the legal world whilst gaining knowledge of the law by working and studying simultaneously. Bevirs are a significant support in my training.

Whilst I am not working or studying, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and activities such as watching films and dancing.
