Wills and Estates
None of us like to think about dying, however, we also don’t like to think of our families or loved ones having to go through even more distress because we haven’t made a will.
The truth is, if you die without having made your wishes clear, your estate may end up in the hands of the wrong people or it may even be given to the Treasury.
We can help with this, whatever stage you are in life. You may be retired, have just got married or had your first child. You may even be single and have just bought your first home.
BEVIRS Private Client department offers a full range of expert advice in regard to all aspects of your own personal affairs. We make Wills to cover all situations from a straightforward gift of assets to your family, to those designed to achieve maximum Inheritance Tax savings.
We have many cases where we look after our client's general affairs and are glad to do so, particularly in cases where the client is unable to manage personally through old age, ill health or other incapacity. In appropriate cases we recommend the making of Lasting Powers of Attorney and advise upon their implications and attend to registration at the office of the Public Guardian when necessary. An area of particular concern at the present time is the protection of assets by the elderly entering into a Residential or Nursing Home. We are pleased to advise on what can and cannot be done to mitigate this problem and to assist with the carrying out of any appropriate actions to safeguard assets.
The Private Client department consists of Nicholas Sewell, David Neve, Janet Strong, Christina Kenton and Emily Bourne who deal with the work from all three offices. Clients can be seen by appointment at any of our offices and home visits can be arranged if needed.
We can also deal with the administration of the estate for you when someone has died, to take away the worry of you having to cope with this on your own. Fixed fees for obtaining a Grant of Probate are available.
